What is Trabex Engage?

Trabex Screen & Engage

Trabex Engage is the entity management and compliance workflow application within the Trabex platform. Engage provides a centralized location for organizations to maintain information about the companies, individuals, suppliers, customers, vendors, and other third parties involved in their global trade and compliance activities.

Accounts and Entities

Engage allows organizations to manage both Accounts and Entities.

Accounts can be used to organize related entities under a broader customer, supplier, organization, business group, or other business relationship. Multiple entities can be associated with an Account while maintaining their own individual Entity records.

This allows organizations to preserve the relationship between related parties while maintaining the individual entity information needed for screening, compliance activities, and ongoing monitoring.

Entity Management

At the center of Engage is the Entity Master. The Entity Master allows organizations to create and maintain a centralized record of the parties with which they do business.

Entities can be added individually, uploaded in batches, or populated through integrations, depending on your organization's Trabex configuration.

Maintaining entities within Engage helps organizations create a consistent source of entity information that can be used across Trabex applications and compliance processes.

Restricted Party and Continuous Screening

Engage works closely with Trabex Screen to support restricted-party screening and ongoing monitoring. While the applications work together, they serve different purposes within the compliance process.

Trabex Screen is designed for one-time or one-off restricted-party screening. A user can enter a company or individual, perform a screen, and review the results based on the applicable screening data available at the time the search is performed.

Trabex Engage is designed for ongoing entity management and monitoring. Entities maintained in the Entity Master become part of your organization's broader entity and compliance record. When Continuous Screening is enabled, applicable entities can be monitored against updates to the screening data available through Trabex Screen.

An easy way to think about the difference is:

  • Screen: What are the screening results for this party right now?

  • Engage: Who are we doing business with, and do we need to continue monitoring them?

Running a manual search in Screen does not, by itself, mean that the party is being maintained as an entity for ongoing monitoring. If a company, individual, supplier, customer, vendor, or other third party is part of an ongoing business or compliance relationship, maintaining that party as an Entity in Engage allows the organization to manage its entity information and, when configured, include it in Continuous Screening.

This allows organizations to use Screen for individual screening needs while using Engage to build and maintain a centralized population of entities requiring ongoing compliance management.

Compliance Activities and Recordkeeping

Engage can also be used to associate compliance-related information and activities with an entity, helping teams maintain a more complete record of their interactions and compliance processes.

Rather than maintaining entity information, screening activity, supporting information, and compliance follow-up across separate systems or spreadsheets, Engage provides a centralized environment for managing these records.

This can help organizations improve:

  • Visibility – Maintain entity and compliance information in one location.

  • Consistency – Create a common Entity Master that can support multiple Trabex workflows.

  • Accountability – Maintain records of compliance activities associated with an entity.

  • Ongoing Monitoring – Support continuous restricted-party screening of entities.

  • Audit Readiness – Maintain a historical record of entity information and related compliance activity.

  • Collaboration – Give authorized users access to the information needed to review and manage entity-related compliance activities.

How Engage Works with Other Trabex Applications

Engage is part of the broader Trabex trade compliance platform and is designed to work alongside other Trabex applications.

Engage manages entities and associated compliance activities.

Screen performs restricted-party and compliance screening.

Compose manages product and global trade compliance data.

Transact manages shipment and transaction workflows.

Together, these applications allow organizations to connect entity, product, screening, and transactional information within a broader compliance environment.

Why Use Engage?

Organizations often maintain information about customers, suppliers, vendors, freight forwarders, brokers, and other business partners across multiple systems and spreadsheets. This can make it difficult for compliance teams to determine which entities have been reviewed, screened, or require additional attention.

Trabex Engage provides a centralized entity environment designed to help compliance teams know who they are doing business with, maintain the supporting compliance record, and monitor those relationships over time.

Note: Available functionality may vary based on your organization's Trabex configuration and licensed applications.
